All I Want

All I want

Is the freedom
To choose my own name,
To write my own story

Without having to prove myself
To my society
To my God
To my reflection

To write my own story
And allow the ink in which it's written
To leave stains
On the hearts of those who read it

Even if it's not finished yet,
I want to write my story

Even if I don't know all of who I am,
I want to choose my name

And because we can't edit
The stories of our lives,
Because our names
Become our definitions

I don't want to prove myself
All I want
Is for my story to be enough
For me

That's all I want
