Future Science and Technology Student in Our Midst

By Bri Voyton

Jessie Fauconier, a student here at Mount, has recently been recognized by Buzz Aldrin and the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists for her passion for STEM and her ambition to make advances in this field. She has been chosen to attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders this summer. This program is designed to teach exceptional students in America about scientific research being conducted today and help guide them on a path to success so that they can become the innovators of the next generation.

Jessie is being recognized for her academic achievements as well as her determination and potential. She feels honored that she was accepted by this program. When asked about her nomination, Jessie had a lot to say.

“I fully intend to represent Mount Pleasant High School as a professional, responsible, and model IB student. I am looking forward to being able to go on exclusive trips and tours where I will be introduced to firsthand clinical experiences, as well as enjoy the teachings of phenomenal instructors and extraordinary people. I am interested in STEM because I am fascinated by our creations using our current technology, mathematics, and sciences. I am determined to leave the NSLC program as an individual who will help further our advances in the future”.

The Congress will be held June 28th through the 30th of this year in Boston. The Academy’s goal is to help young STEM students fulfill their dreams and reach their full potential. Jessie will be learning along with some of the top students in our country. Needless to say, this is an honor for Jessie and an event she will likely never forget.
